Patent Bar

The Patent Bar Exam is a multiple-choice exam. It consists of 100 questions that must be completed within a 6-hour time limit. The questions specificially cover patent law.

In order to sit for the Patent Bar Exam, test takers must possess a background in science or engineering. A specific degree will count toward the requirements in addition to college coursework.

Individuals who meet the basic criteria and pass the Patent Bar Exam will become Patent Agents. Individuals who meet the basic criteria, pass the Patent Bar Exam, and are attorneys in law will become Patent Attorneys.

This exam is administered by Prometric at testing agencies around the nation.
